Do you want to be a referee at the International Eastercup?
Great! The International Eastercup Berlin-Moabit is one of the most international basketball events in the world. From day one, internationality, diversity and fair play have been at the heart of the tournament. At the same time, the Eastercup is a children and youth project, mainly financed through public funding.
The Eastercup is aimed at referees who want to be part of a special international event, officiate many games, develop their skills and connect with referees from all over the world.
Registration
Registration opens on November 1.
All referees who register by January 31, 2026
will receive feedback around February 1.
More Information
When
- Tournament period: Thursday, April 2, 2026 to Monday, April 6, 2026
- Main tournament days: Friday, Saturday and Sunday → Referees officiate at least 5 games per day
- Thursday: selected opening games
- Referee meeting: Thursday at 9:00 PM (mandatory for all referees)
- Monday: finals, usually every referee is assigned at least one game
- Traditional opening game: Referees vs. Eastercup Team on the opening day
- Referee get-together: April 5, 2026
Where
- Berlin (Moabit), Germany
- Games are played at several venues across Berlin
- A free public transport ticket (BVG, zone ABC) is provided for mobility
Games
- Internationally represented tournament
- Strong focus on children’s and youth basketball
- Wide variety of teams and age groups
Payment
- €11 per officiated game
- Payment per game

Payment methods:
- Bank transfer for referees from Europe (after the tournament)
- Cash payment (EUR) for referees from outside Europe → on the last tournament day at the tournament office
- Accommodation costs (if staying in the hostel/hotel organized by us) will be offset against the total number of officiated games after the event
- No travel cost compensation
Food
- Free catering for referees during all tournament days
- In addition, a joint referee evening on April 5
Transportation
- Free BVG public transport ticket (zone ABC) → valid for all public transport in Berlin during the tournament
Equipment
- Each referee receives at least one official Eastercup referee shirt
- Referees must bring their own referee equipment
Awards
Three referee awards will be presented:
- 🏆 Best Junior Referee (up to 22 years)
- 🏆 Best Senior Referee – Female
- 🏆 Best Senior Referee – Male
Referee Selection
As more applications than available spots are expected:
- Everyone is welcome to apply
- Registration does not guarantee a spot
- Feedback will be provided around February 1
